Interested in purchasing hatching eggs? Let me tell you about our procedures, because, as you know, how eggs are handled has everything to do with viability once they reach you. However, temperature changes, air pressure changes if shipped via plane, or rough handling by postal workers is beyond my control. Also, incubators offer another set of variables, from humidity to temperature, that are also beyond my control. I can offer no guarantee on hatchibility once they leave my hands. I can tell you what happens while they are in my care.
I gather eggs three times a day and store them pointy side down at room temperature, tilting the carton three times a day to prevent yolk sticking. They are never more than 5 days old on shipping day. I always include a few extras. I wrap each egg in bubble wrap and place in a small box, snug, but not so tight the bubble wrap can't do its job, pointy side down of course. This box is then sealed and placed into a larger priority mail box that is padded with brown paper. The little box is unable to move and is cushioned by the paper as well. The box is clearly labeled to be hatching eggs and warning against freezing, heat, or rough handling. Your name, address, and phone number are clearly marked so that you receive a call when they arrive at the post office. Please call your post office to give them a heads up. Once shipped, I send you a tracking number. There is insurance but most post offices will not honor that on hatching eggs, so be aware.
